Creating Equitable Access

This project promotes equitable access to energy efficient and resilient homes. The goals for this project include increasing awareness of existing programs that provide support for energy efficiency and solar programs among low- moderate income and communities of color; identifying and addressing barriers to accessing resources; and exploring how to develop a cohort of trusted contractors that are available to meet local demand for this work.

Ensure low-moderate income families benefit from low energy bills, healthy environments, and safety in the face of power outages. Encourage and support efforts to make the new affordable housing development at Rand Road, and any future affordable housing developments, highly efficient, resilient, and all electric. Collect data on energy use, resident experiences, and share lessons learned.

Residential Building Home Labeling Policies

Energy bills affect cost of living but are rarely understood when homes are purchased. This project supports the development of home energy labeling programs that clarify energy costs and open up financing options for energy efficient upgrades. This project includes identifying and sharing the anticipated benefits and impacts on both the community and on governing body Operations.
