Hood River County Community Resilience Mapping

Hood River County Community Resilience Mapping

This project develops a map that helps identify and prioritize energy projects that provide the most benefit to the community. Specifically, the process considers where energy projects could provide backup power to key services, support vulnerable populations, and offer other benefits. Implementing this project involves working with governing bodies, social service providers, and other key stakeholders.

Funding Partnership Pathways

Funding Partnership Pathways

There are many federal and state funding opportunities that could support energy projects. However, these funding sources can be complicated and burdensome to access. This project works with Hood River County governing bodies to develop streamlined, sustainable pathways for accessing federal and state funding for energy resilience and other priority projects.

County-Wide Critical Facilities Solar + Storage Microgrids

County-Wide Critical Facilities Solar + Storage Microgrids

Power outages may occur in any season and their risks are increasing with more frequent and severe weather. This project supports the development of solar+storage systems at critical facilities designed to keep buildings operational for a two-week power outage. Specifically, this project looks to identify individual or aggregated funding strategies to build projects. Feasibility assessments have been completed on 10 facilities, and the Energy Council is now working with these facilities to identify funding and move forward with Construction.
