The Energy Council values equity. This project included work with a consultant to develop a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) lens that is place-based and relevant to Hood River County. The consultant led two DEI workshops that helped the Energy Council develop equity lens guiding questions and agree on a path to integrate additional DEI practices into Council operations and projects.

This project encourages the development of microgrids that support economic resilience within new and existing developments. To do so, the Energy Council is engaging with building owners and developers to identify funding for feasibility studies.
Small-scale, renewable, hydropower systems within irrigation and drinking water infrastructure are an impactful way to meet Energy Plan goals. Support systems under development for the City of Hood River (CityHR) and East Fork Irrigation District (EFID). Help identify funding development pathways when Applicable.
The development of a new Hood River Bridge is a region-wide priority as a critical link between communities and plays a role as a vital, regional link for our economy. Ensure a new Hood River Bridge achieves the goals of the Hood River County Energy Plan as much as possible. Support pedestrian connectivity elements, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
